Q. 1 When does the academic year begin at SIA, Losal ?

Ans: The academic session starts on 1st April every year and continue till 31st March for the subsequent year.  The school resumes in full flow from July onwards.

 

Q. 2 What is the eligibility criterion for admission to the school?
Ans: The school invites application from the students for various classes from all walks of life. No discrimination in any form is done. As we firmly believe in “Education for one and All”. Entrance exams are mandatory for classes I and above. Direct admissions are granted to Pre-Primary section. There are no Direct admissions to classes X an XII except in case of transfer or shifting of house somewhere near the school. The admission granted is provisional and is only confirmed after the approval of Board.
 
Q. 3 How can I register my ward’s name for admission?
Ans: You can download the registration form from the website or can collect it from the school campus. The form should be completed and submitted along with a transfer certificate and the report card of the previous year.
 
Q. 4 What are the documents required for the admission?
Ans: Following documents are required to be submitted:
1. Filled in application for registration and admission form. 
2. 4 passport sized photographs.
3. Report Card/Books of the previous year.
4. Transfer Certificate/Birth Certificate whichever is applicable. The T.C should be countersigned by the concerned authority of the educational Board. For students coming from abroad, T.C should be countersigned by the Consulate of the concerning Embassy.
5. Character Certificate duly signed by the Principal of previous school.
6. Registration/Enrolment Number, in case the admission is sought directly in X and XII std. Any other relevant document required by the office.
 
Q. 5 What are the streams of studies offered to the students studying at SIA, Losal ?
Ans: The school offers Science and Commerce streams at the Senior Secondary level.
 
Q. 6 What are the subjects of study for different streams?
Ans: For Science stream the school offers English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, I.P., Mathematics & Physical Education.
    For Commerce streams the subjects offered are English, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics & Physical Education.
 
Q. 7 Does the School provide transportation services?
Ans: Yes, School transport is available. The charges vary as per the distance from the school.
 
Q. 8 Why opt for SIA, Losal?
Ans: The School provides a healthy and congenial environment to promote the overall development of the child. It allows the students to overcome their fear and showcase their talents. From giving a child a holistic teaching environment to the provision of an eye for scientific development, the school has it all.
 
Q. 9 Do we admit students from overseas?
Ans: Yes, children of NRIs and those from overseas are most welcome.
 
Q. 10 How are students assessed and evaluated?
Ans: We use the evaluation system prescribed by the CBSE Board.
 
Q. 11 How are parents informed about the progress of their wards?
Ans: SIA, Losal is using SMS Facility which parents can keep a track of their kid’s activities . Parents are also informed regularly about their ward’s progress through the school diary. They can also meet the teachers at the PTMs or on any working Saturday.
 
Q. 12 Are any there any languages taught in the school?
Ans: Yes, we have Language Development Labs where English and Hindi  are taught to the students.

 

Q. 13 What is the exam date (For orals and written) and when will the examinations finish?
Ans: The exam date for orals and written is clearly specified in the school calendar. Now due to changes in the curriculum by C.B.S.E, the dates for both Formative and Summative Assessments have been specified.
 
Q.14 What is the correct time to collect note books in case the child goes absent?
Ans: The parents’ can collect the copies or note down the work on Saturdays. You can also have a word from the teachers in case of any doubt.
 
Q. 15 What is the procedure for getting the transfer certificate,  tuition fee certificate, identity proof, certificate of bona fide student etc.
Ans: For getting a transfer certificate, tuition fee certificate, identity proof or the certificate of bona fide student, the parents have to submit an application regarding the same. The certificates are issued after a day. 
 
Q. 16 How can I get my child a Half Day leave?
Ans: The Half Day leaves are generally not allowed. However in case of an emergency, the parents have to come personally to collect the child.
 
Q.17 Are you offering any Career Counselling facilities in the school?
Ans: There is an exclusive facility of counselling at SIA, Losal. Counselling in terms of AEP (Adolescent Educational Programme), Life Skill education, Health and Hygiene etc. take place in regular interval of time. Career Counselling for Secondary and Senior Secondary classes is the part of the academic programme. A full time counsellor is kept in the school for the same. General discussion and talk with the eminent personalities and successful person always held in the school to boost up the morale of the students and allow them to select a career of their choice.
 
Q.18 How are Smart Classes helpful for the students?
Ans: Smart classes help the students learn the topic faster with the help of visual aids and animation. The recent researches in the field highlight the fact that a student tends to learn and recall faster through visual aids than any other medium.
 
Q. 19 How well other Board students’ can cope up in CBSE?
Ans: Students from various Boards can become a part and parcel of CBSE curriculum. The teachers’ with their proved efforts accommodate everybody for the former curriculum.
